The Driving Center is offering a Driver Education class over fall break. Class meets all requirements for insurance reductions and is licensed by the State of Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. You may take the permit test and the road test after completing the class requirements. Call 482-6700 to sign up or for more information. (Tu,Th) J. Woofter

Philosophy Club: join us after school on Friday from 3-4 in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for a discussion on racism, prejudice, and stereotypes. Everyone is welcome! (F) – A. Pickering

FBLA will meet immediately after school today in room CS345. Everyone is welcome to attend especially those students who have an interest in majoring in a business field in college such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, etc. Officers will be elected and a community service project will be discussed. Math Club is currently meeting on Friday afternoons from 3 to 4 in Mrs. Mullins’ room, CS231. P.D.M. (or Public Displays of Mathematics) are what we are all about! Come join us...and prepare to be challenged! (F) – K. Mullins

The Gay Straight Alliance Tie Dye Event will happen for sure this Friday, 3pm in Ms. Adler’s room. Everyone is welcome. Bring your own prewashed white cotton garment to be dyed. (F) – B. Adler

International Relations Club: the rush for Antarctic resources is on! Can you keep the peace as the nations of the world struggle to stake their claims? Join us Thursday from 3-4 in the Combined Studies room (LC322) for this exciting model UN simulation. (Th) – A. Pickering

Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior pictures will be distributed from the Kiosk during lunch periods this week on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14. Students should come by during their lunch to pick up their pictures. (Th) – W. Schmidt

STUDENT LUNCH FORMS - Just a reminder to students who have not completed the lunch form as of this date - The grace period will end on 9/14/12. After that date, only current information will be accepted. No fee waivers will be processed until the lunch form has been completed and approved.

Believe it or not....it's MIDTERM!!! National Honor Society tutors are here to help. Every Tuesday and Thursday in the Guidance Office from 3:00-3:45. Tutoring is available in all subjects and it is FREE! Tuesday's tutor is Amber Wilson and Thursday's tutors are Meg Landon and Samantha Wang. (Th) – L. Bailey

GUIDANCE INFO

Attention all Sophomores and Juniors:   PSAT/NMSQT® Registration starts this week! The PSAT is a Practice SAT (for 10th and 11th graders) and the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (for 11th graders only). This is an optional test, but students are strongly encouraged to participate.

The 2012 PSAT/NMSQT test date will be Wednesday, October 17 and the test will be given at ORHS during the school day.   TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP DURING LUNCH AND AFTER SCHOOL.  You must sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT during the registration dates here at Oak Ridge High School.    Online registration for the PSAT/NMSQT is not available. The cost is $14. You must pay with a check or cash when you register. (9/13) – B. Ottinger
