SENIOR INFO

Seniors: The Graduation list of rows and numbers are posted in the showcase at the Wildcat Arena, at the Food Court, and in guidance. Please know your row and number by the date of the Senior Breakfast. You will need this information for Graduation Practice. (W) E. Vaughan

STUDENT INFO

ORHS Softball Tryouts will be held Monday 6/4 and Tuesday 6/5 at Baseball Complex Field C from 5:00-7:30. Bring a current physical and gloves to tryouts. (CHANGE OF DATES) (Tu,Th) – R. Sumner

Convocation Ushers: Due to the NHS meeting Monday,  the mandatory meeting with Madame Barry will be held Tuesday , May 22nd immediately after school in CS 307. We will be explaining and assigning duties for the practice on Wednesday and Convocation on Sunday May 27th. (Tu) – E. Barry

All athletes not qualified for the State Meet must turn in sweats and uniforms by TODAY Friday May 18 to Coach Anderson in room LC 211. Turn in your stuff TODAY! (F) – E. Anderson

Powder-puff game? What’s that? Come and watch the Freshman Class, and Capt. Maddy Livengood battle the Sophomore class and Capt. Lois Johnson, followed by the Junior class and Capt. Savannah Davis as they take on the Senior class led by Capt. Roshni Dave on Friday, May 18, 6:00 PM at the Ben Martin Field. $2.00 donation will get you in the game. Philosophy Club: join us this Friday after school in Mr. Pickering’s room for the final club meeting of the year. We will discuss the philosophy of education and have a farewell party for our seniors. If you’ve been to Philosophy Club this year, you should definitely join us this week and bring your yearbook. Oak Log - Make sure to get your copy of the yearbook as soon as possible. Supplies are low, and they are going FAST. See Ms. Noe in the sales window in the main lobby before school, after school, and during lunch to get your copy. Bring $55 cash or check made payable to ORHS. Last day of sales will be FRIDAY, MAY 18th. (F)

All Scholars’ Bowl members are invited to attend the end of the year Banquet and Recognition ceremony at Mr. Gattis on Tuesday, May 22, at 5:30 PM.  See you there! (M) – E. Brubaker

Gay Straight Alliance students - we are hosting our end of the year picnic this Saturday! Be sure to come to Thursday's after school meeting to help plan or check with Ms. Adler anytime for information! (F) – B. Adler

All newly inducted members of National Honor Society will meet on Monday, May 21st in LC-327.    Dr. Goins will be speak to the new members of the Society and we will elect officers. All members are expected to attend.  See Mrs. Bailey in LC-304 to explain conflicts. (M) – L. Bailey

The Children's Museum of Oak Ridge is offering volunteer opportunities this summer during our summer camps.  Please contact Heather McAmis or Carroll Welch at 482-1074 as soon as possible if you are interested. (M) – H. Haynes

Rental calculators will be collected during math classes on:

Tuesday, 5/22ALL SENIORS                                                                 Thursday, 5/24 – All students taking Algebra 1

Friday, 5/25 – All students taking Geometry, Algebra 2 or Algebra 3        Tuesday, 5/29 – All students in an honors or AP math class

Calculators should be returned with slide cases and battery covers.  Please remove any stickers or markings you may have placed on the calculator.  Batteries must work so that we can check functions and clear the memory.  You are responsible for the calculator issued to you!  Your math teacher will have a calculator for you to borrow during final exams (M) – K. Applications are currently being accepted for one (2) Oak Ridge High School Student Representative for the Environmental Quality Advisory Board (EQAB) and one (1) Representative for the Traffic Safety Advisory Board (TSAB). The only special qualifications for the positions are Oak Ridge residency and current student status at Oak Ridge High School. All interested students are encouraged to fill out the new, on-line application which is available on the City Clerk’s Departmental Website or at http://tiny.cc/studentreps. Applications and on-line submissions are due on Friday, May 18, 2012 by 5:00 p.m. to the City Clerk’s Office. The election for these positions will take place at the May 29, 2012 City Council Meeting.
