Congratulations to Team 4265 Wildbots on representing Oak Ridge High School at the First Robotics Challenge world championship in St. Louis last week. The first year team performed well in their division, winning four of nine matches and scoring lots of points. Stay tuned for information in the coming weeks about next year’s robotics team. Are you interested in running for Sophomore, Junior, Senior Class officer or for Student Council officer? If so, you need to pick up a petition from Mrs. Haynes or Mrs. Homan ASAP. Completed petitions are due by this Friday, May 4 at 3:00. (Th) – H. Haynes

BOYS BASKETBALL Tryouts - JV & Varsity – Wednesday 5/16 – Wildcat Arena This will be the ONLY try out available for this upcoming basketball season 2012-2013. Each participant must have a sports physical dated after April 30, 2012 to be able to participate in try-outs and spring practice. (x Th) – A. Green

The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 YAB Election. Applications are due June 1, 2012. Sixteen applicants will be confirmed and appointed by City Council to serve a one-year term of office that commences on August 1, 2012. To be considered, applicants must be residents of Oak Ridge and entering grade levels 8th through 12th. Participation on the YAB requires attendance at bi-monthly meetings on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m., as well as at special events that are held throughout the year. All interested students are encouraged to fill out the new, on-line application which is available on the City Clerk’s Departmental Website or at http://tiny.cc/yab. Paper applications are available in the Student Services Office at Oak Ridge High School, and at the front desk of the Civic Center. (Tu, Th)
