There will be an Interact Club meeting this Monday in Mrs. Haynes’s room (LC104). (M) – H. Haynes

AP Econ Students:  Remember the admired names on Mrs. Bauman’s ceiling?  Do you want to have your name there for all to admire??  Then come to Mrs. Bauman’s AP reviews!  Monday and Tuesday after school, Tuesday during 5th lunch for micro and Macro review on Thursday during 5th lunch and after school.  (Tu) – B. Students interested in participating in this year’s Day of Silence on this Friday, April 20th, must sign up with either Ms. Adler, Mr.Koehler, Ms. Sobek, or Ms.Goepfert by Wednesday, April 18th. Upon signing up, you will be given a Day of Silence Card and asked to discuss your participation with each of your teachers by this Thursday. Participating students will be meeting at 7:30am Friday morning in the Arena. (W) – B. Adler

All State Math Contest team members and alternates should meet at the Providence Road bus loop tomorrow morning, 4/17, NO LATER than 7:45 a.m.  Alternates will only go if needed to complete a team.  Remember to bring pencils and an ACT-approved calculator (no TI-89 or TI-NSpire CAS).  If you need to borrow a calculator, tell your math teacher TODAY! Prom Proposal Contest- If you would like to win a free pair of tickets to the Atomic Prom and you asked your date to prom in a creative way please send pictures or video and a short explanation of your creativity to Ms. Eidam in LC 313 by April 19th. (M) – S. Eidam

Roll Up Your Sleeves and Raise Your Voices this Year   

April 16th is the last day to submit your application for our 2012-2013 Youth Advisory Board. We are looking for 20 amazing youth to take charge in their families, schools and communities. Board members get access to the many resources and connections the Alliance has to offer to make their experience the most rewarding for our youth as well as the communities they affect.     Learn more about our Youth Advisory Board. GUIDANCE INFO

Blacks in Government (BIG) is offering two types of scholarship and students are allowed to apply for only one type.  The two types are: 1) Academic Excellence Scholarship – based primarily on their scholastic achievements in high school.  Financial status is not a factor for this award, 2) Financial Need Scholarship – based up financial status and greatest need.  Students must be a US citizen and a resident of Knoxville, Anderson, or Roane County to apply.  BIG’s goal is to promote equity in all aspects of American life, excellence in public service, and opportunity for all Americans.  The deadline to postmark the application is April 30, 2012.  Please see Ms. Green in the School Counseling office to pick up an application. For Students of Color who will be in Grades 10-12 next year:  The Knoxville Area Urban League is accepting applications for the National Achievers Society.  This prestigious honor society is open to students of color who will be in grades 10-12 in the fall of 2012 and have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.  Come by guidance to see your counselor if you are interested in applying.  The deadline is April 27, 2012.
