Are you interested in Materials Science? Want to find out what things are made of? The 2012 Materials Science Camp at Oak Ridge Y-12 might be for you! The camp is FREE from June 18-22, 2012. Atomic Prom will take place on Sat April 28th. Ticket pre-orders will be on sale 4tbe and 5th periods March 27th-30th in the Wildcat Arena kiosk . Couples tickets will be $60 and single tickets will be $30. Last minute tickets will be sold April 24th-27th. Couples will be $75 and singles will be $38. If your date does not attend ORHS you will need to pick up a Guest Application from Ms. Eidam in LC 313 or when you purchase your tickets. (M) – S. Eidam
Prom Proposal Contest- Ask your date to prom in a creative way and have a chance to win a free pair of tickets to the Atomic Prom. To participate in the Prom Proposal Contest the person doing the asking must be a Junior or Senior. Turn in a short description of what you did with pictures or video to Ms. Eidam in LC 313 by April 13th. (M) – S. Eidam
Jostens will distribute class ring packets in the Main Lobby during both lunch periods today. Any student at ORHS may purchase a class ring. (Th) – T. Ledden
ALL AP Econ students who are taking the Econ exam on May 17th should attend AP Reviews in Micro on Tuesdays during 5th Lunch or after school> Macro review begins on March 22 during 5th Lunch, or after school. Macro will meet every Thursday during lunch and after school. Mrs. Bauman will be excited to see many of you from the Fall semester. (Th) – B. Bauman
DISC, the disc interest sports club, will meet Friday, March 23, at 7:20 A.M. in Mr. Fuhrman's room, CS 339. We need to finalize flea market workers and discuss plans for the spring. Beginners and experienced disc enthusiasts alike are welcome to join us. – (Th) T. Fuhrman
National Honor Society tutors this week are Melissa Delacerda and Amy Arakawa on Tuesday and Sarah Stokely and Stephen Schwan on Thursday. Tutoring services are offered from 3:00-3:45 in the Guidance office. (Th) – L. Bailey
All Juniors who have a 3.6 cumulative GPA and who wish to be considered for membership in National Honor Society should pick up a Verification of Interest Form from Mrs. Zolyniak in the Library. Come and watch some of the best talent at ORHS at the Student Council Talent Show this Thursday, March 22 from 6:30 to 8:00. There will be no admission for the performance. We would like to invite all students and faculty to come and enjoy this event. (Th) - K. Mullins

Youth Advisory Board - UPCOMING EVENTS
The City YAB is hosting a dance for Freshmen & Sophomores at the Paradox Teen Center on Friday, April 13th from 6pm-9pm. Admission is $4.00. Razzleberry’s will be selling concessions on site. For more information, contact ORHS students Kelsey Warmbrod, Patricia Edou, Shane Harris, or Cali Brousal.
The City Youth Advisory Board is hosting a Summer Jobs & Career Fair for Teens on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the Oak Ridge High School Café. The event will introduce students to possible summer job opportunities, future careers, and to potential colleges as well. Students that attend will be eligible to win door prizes that include gift cards and electronics!
The City Youth Advisory Board is hosting a "Battle of the Teen Bands" at 6 p.m. at the A.K. Bissell Park Pavilion on Friday night, April 27, 2012. The pavilion is located behind the Oak Ridge Civic Center. The musical competition will feature local bands and groups vying for prizes and the honor of being named B.O.B. Champion. Admission is free, and concessions will be sold by Razzleberry’s. All band members must be under the age of 21 and a registration fee of $20 must be paid by the April 18, 2012.
