Coach Tom Froning has been guiding the Oak Ridge High School baseball program since the spring of 1999.  Coach Froning and and his wife, Laura, have three daughters (Ruthie, Maggie Belle and Ella).  Tom is an Algebra 1 and Precalculus teacher at the high school.  He has a Bachelors degree from the University of Kentucky and a Masters degree from Milligan College.  He is an active officer in the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.  Prior to his experience at ORHS, Coach Froning was the head coach for two years at Sullivan North High School in Kingsport, TN, an assistant at Scott County High School in Georgetown, KY, and an assistant at Lafayette High School in Lexington, KY.  As a left-handed pitcher and a high school first baseman, he played for two years in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, two years of independent minor league baseball (Richmond, IN and Pikeville, KY), at the University of Kentucky (1990-1992) and at Lehman Catholic High School in Sidney, OH.
